This was our second stop at Gîte Lauraët and we may well be back again!  This is a peaceful spot to break your journey where the welcome is warm and the Gîte, though small, has everything you need for a pleasant stay.  There's a lovely park nearby to walk your dog or just take a wander through and the property has off-road parking and a delightful little courtyard area to chill and relax outside.  It was very hot on this visit and good use was made of the air-con, but it is the warmth of the unobtrusive welcome and the lovely atmosphere that make this a delightful place to stay.  Merci beaucoup!

    Linxe has very little in the way of services or activities...

    Linxe has very little in the way of services or activities but, if you are staying at the Chateau, then that estate has a number of activities and a decent swimming pool, lovely grounds and is secure. If you have a car then Linxe is a good location for exploring the beach, the regional countryside, Biarritz/Cap Breton (lovely place!), and even the Western Pyrenees (if you are willing to drive for an hour). There is a decent kayaking experience in Linxe and a couple of shops, but the supermarket on the edge of the town is the most useful thing.
