Lots of places to eat and shop, with a variety of interesting sites to visit in the village. the surrounding area is full of interesting villages to visit. We could have stayed for much longer. Wonderful place to use as a base for touring the Luberon and northern Provence. Very easy to get around on foot in the town, and ample parking, except on market day, which draws a big crowd. Get there early for best parking. There is a group of cafés at the city center which are ideal for having a coffee or a meal. We tended to prefer Café Gaby. L'Insolite restaurant was excellent! There are several other good restaurants and a lot of fun shops to peruse on a stroll around the town. The heart of Lourmarin, where we stayed, is extremely beautiful - cobbled streets and restaurants. If you cannot pull your bags for 100m, you may have a problem with staying in the heart, as it is paedestrian zone and the taxi needs to stop outside the zone - make a plan to pull your bag - it’s so worth it and very close to a not particularly friendly or helpful Info office, but still. Lourmarin is a lovely village with a great choice of cafes and restaurants and a friendly atmosphere. It is a good centre for visiting other areas within Provence. Lovely little provencal city with great markets on fridays...
Lovely little provencal city with great markets on fridays and lots of good food. Pricey of course as all of France but I really enjoy the boutique shops which offer other clothes than your run of the mill articles that you find everywhere else... I recommend to go off season in may or september and definitively go for the classical music concerts in the chateau. Lovely village with lots of restaurants and great mini golf course alongside a restaurant - play golf then eat :-) Lively music on both nights. Obviously popular with locals as well as tourists. Village has excellent market on a Friday. Good vineyards in the vicinity - tried Chateau Constantin - just outside the village and also Chateau la coste about half hour drive. The space is well set out and had everything we needed. Several thoughtful touches, including a bottle of local rose wine, very kind. A great base for exploring locally and over to The Luberon Valley. Communication excellent pre visit. Lourmarin was gorgeous, but everywhere very quiet in March.
