Mers-Les-Bains is a traditional unspoiled French resort. The people are friendly and welcoming, but do not expect English to be spoken in the smaller of the restaurants and cafes.. but this wont stop you having a wonderful meal ... There are a number of good restaurants and cafes, Mussels are great! It is not too far from Calais, but a world apart in terms of pace of life and enjoyment that comes with it The beach is shingle at the top part, but sand when the tide goes out, and great for kids and families. You can buy shrimp nets for play in the pools that are left as the tide goes out. I had a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend there with my partner and will definitely visit again soon.Guest review bydavidUnited Kingdom

It’s very close to the seafront and all the local shops. Getting bread and a coffee in the morning became a ritual! The market was also a highlight with a great selection of local produce. Mers-les-Bains is a fantastic resort with many interesting restaurants and a lovely beach where we watched the sunset each evening. We enjoyed the modern and light layout of the property. It was lovely to arrive and receive a warm welcome, easy check in and very pleasant room with good adjustable air-con, super shower and great comfortable bed. Breakfast offered everything you could want and the lounge area had tea and coffee facilities - the weather was really wet but we were able to read our novels and have a cuppa looking out through the modern glazed area.
