Located near the borders of France, Germany and Luxemburg, the French city of Metz is the capital of the Lorraine region in the Moselle department. This destination has stunning architecture, as well as rich history and culture.

The Cathedral was absolutely stunning and so was the Museum cour d’Or - extremely impressive not only for its collection of varied artefacts but it was so well laid out with explanatory information in multiple languages, including English - and it was free! I only stayed for one night while travelling to another place, so I didn't spend long in the city but it really impressed me and I wish I had more time to explore it. Metz was amazing! The Christmas markets were fantastic and the city itself is gorgeous! It is just the right size to get a city feeling, but not too large to be overwhelming! The apartment was roomy, comfortable and well equipped, so that we could prepare our evening meal and breakfast and sleep comfortably. The location is central but very quiet, with park space all around. The staff was helpful and friendly, and they messaged us in advance, so that we knew how to check in and where to park the car.
