Moissac is a small town with a big and important abbey.
Moissac is a small town with a big and important abbey. We loved the relaxed atmosphere (eg free parking), the covered market open in the morning with fresh produce, the restaurants and cafes in near to the abbey. We also enjoyed a free concert in the abbey itself after a downpour ended chances of an outdoor performance. We found the people friendly and helpful. There are a range of eating options and a lovely walk along the canal. Moissac is also a good place from which to explore the surrounding area including bastides, some of which are virtually tourist-free (at least when we visited).Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Moissac old town square is great but I would not stay...
Moissac old town square is great but I would not stay anywhere else in Moissac. I was there on a Monday and all of the cute little shops were closed. We ate at a great little place called La Terrasse. The food was delicious but the service was a little slow which was the case at most eating establishments in France. The accommodation was a mistake. The appliances didn’t work, nor did the door lock system. Couldn’t go out and if I did couldn’t get back in. Manager unavailable most of the. Time. It is a delightful place and beautifully situated for visiting other surrounding sights. The apartment is very close to the centre, but also quiet. It is well equipped, clean and well maintained. Veronique is a wonderful hostess and superb chef who also speaks English. She has renovated this lovely old home very stylishly. She gave us lots of information about the area.
