Mougins is a beautiful village with lots of culture and good restaurants. Pablo Picasso liked it so much that he moved there, and spent his final years painting prolifically, before his death. There were lots of art exhibits, cute stores, and plenty to do. We took many day trips to other locations from there. As we had our own car, I am not able to speak to public transportation. Mougins is a lovely small town, near Cannes on the French Riviera. There are restaurants, bars, fruit and produce stands and a full-service grocery store; Places to shop, all within reasonable walking distance. Mougins has changed over time, and we thought we had come back once too often. We have been here over a dozen times in 40 years, and we love it. Several things are less than they were, first being the cuisine. Of course Vergé has passed on, but there seem to be few young chefs aspiring for greatness there. This impression may be partly due to our timing. Several restaurants were seasonally closed. Also, the sculptures all over town of all the fruits and vegetables was rather tasteless, and lent a tawdry appearance. Chic it was not. And moving Commandant Lamy’s statue was an act of disrespect. This was our last trip, but we are grateful for the many happy days we have enjoyed in Mougins.Guest review byLouis - 10.0

Mougins is a small and pretty hilltop village with picturesque cobblestone streets, a selection of restaurants (mainly for dinner I think), galleries and views of the mountains and the sea. The free pu lic parking was a mere 5 minutes walk. Entry was extremely simple. Communication was exemplary. The facilities were high class. Even during a heat wave, we could turn off the air conditioning when we left for a day's sightseeing and come 'home' to a cool interior.
