It almost seemed to be too good to be true - but yes, we indeed had 2,600 square feet of space (6 bedrooms) for 3 people. Way more than we needed but we welcomed it after being crammed in hotel rooms for the beginning of our European trip. Guests essentially have an entire THIRD of the chateau/castle. The owners live in the larger half of the castle while guests stay in the 6-bed wing. The grounds are so lush with greenery and the owner encourages you to explore the property. It's quiet and such a nice retreat from a busy schedule we had touring busy suburban cities. We plan on coming back with our friends later this year and hoping to fill ALL those other rooms. You can comfortably sleep 8-10 people in the 6-bedroom section by itself.

Wauw! Me and my partner were soaking wet because of the rain, thus we decided to book an accomodation near Bar-Le-Duc. Chantal was so kind to host us, even though I booked very last minute. She is such a lovely and warm host, and provided us with one of the best accomodations we ever slept at. It is very spacious, nicely decorated and everything you could possibly need is provided. The breakfast with homemade jam was amazing. We felt very welcome and left with a warm heart and a satisfied belly. We can not recommend this place enough, we will definitely come back whenever we are in the area. Thankyou Chantal!

    The town is quite sleepy and shops/restaurants close early...

    The town is quite sleepy and shops/restaurants close early but we anticipated spending most (if not all) of our time at the castle. Aldi's and Carrefour are 5 minutes down the road so we ended up spending less than 50 euros for all 3 of us for dinner just buying wine (under 2 euro at Aldi), cheeses, hams, and baguettes - you really can't get cheaper than that and it was so tasty.
