A friendly town, marvellous local produce, excellent market on Thursday and dining was excellent . An easy relaxing picturesque location. My third visit for the Dartmouth Paimpol Cross Channel Regatta . The marina staff are exceptional and the Hotel Goelo was a good choice to relax in after busy days and long late dinners. We were very impressed with Paimpol & the surrounding area,...
We were very impressed with Paimpol & the surrounding area, both coastal & inland, but in full season it could be very difficult to get around & park. There are plenty of shops & restaurants but we only ate home-cooked food. The ruined Abbey de Beauport is well worth a visit, with lovely coastal walking areas in and around the grounds. It also had excellent parking & a cafe. We would recommend a stay in Paimpol but not in the full holiday season.Guest review byKeithFrance - 8.0

Paimpol is a large town compared with many of its neighbours. There are plenty of shops and restaurants but we did not find any outstandingly good. It came to life on the Tuesday with a very large market which occupies several streets and squares in the town. About a mile from the port of Paimpol, and not far from the Abbey de Beauport. Breakfast overlooking the water included delicious homemade bread and strawberry jam from the host’s garden. Exquisite style in the furnishing of the large bedroom. A warm welcome from the host, and a good secure location on the property for my bicycle. I was warned in advance and booked at the back of the hotel, however, the room turned out to be at the side and the only way to reduce the noise was to shut the window throughout the night which made a small room hot and stuffy.
