Peille village is very quiet generally, with local residents...
Peille village is very quiet generally, with local residents gathering in the small square at weekends. We went at the end of May and the three restaurants available weren't regularly open - it is best to check with the restaurants themselves around opening hours rather than relying on review sites such as Trip Advisor. We especially liked La Voute which specialises in crepes, in the form of pizzas and also sweet crepes. The area around Peille is walkable if you are fit and don't have mobility issues - I would advise having use of a car if you are able to.Guest review byJaniceUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Tiny charming village.
Tiny charming village. Not very easy reachable by car and very difficult to find a parking. Only along the road and if you are not experienced mountain roads driver it can be a challenging and stressful experience.Guest review byMariaNetherlands

We were sent to the wrong house with online directions and had to contact someone to help us as nobody spoke English in Peille. Would’ve of liked to know it was a good walk from the carpark in advance. The house was cute clean and we loved the view and balcony. Unfortunately a local cat poops in the garden box everyday and the entrance smells really bad. My husband had to dig it up and get rid of it.Guest review byMICKAustralia

Ideal place to unwind. We wanted to get away from the crowds in Nice and we certainly managed to do that in Peille and at La Vela. We took a taxi from Nice but on our way back we had to take a bus. Peille isn’t serviced by taxis and the railway station is far. Either drive or else bus it to Peille and back.Guest review byJosephineMalta

It is a 10-minute walk from the medieval village of Peille where there is a sense of time standing still. Joel was a lovely and helpful host, nothing was too much trouble.
