    La Rochelle is a lovely city to visit especially if you have even a mild interest in history. Wouldn't recommend the city ocean pass as you really have to work your socks off to get any worthwhile value from it.

    We booked a double ensuite room for one night. Room and shower room both good standard and comfortable. We were surprised that the hotel restaurant does not open at the weekend. But the member of staff on duty was very helpful and set up a table in the bar for us to eat a 'picnic' of bread/cheese/fruit. We were grateful for his kindness. Good location for travellers as hotel is near to the main route west.

    First class people working there. The air conditioner(ac) was fantastic. The hotel looks a little older from the outside, but the interior and rooms are nicely done. Bed was firm but comfortable. Water in the shower was hot, parking was plentiful and the tram station is near by. Access to the beach was five minutes.
