On our last visit a few years ago, it was a bit Spartan. The recent makeover is excellent and has made a huge difference. It’s now a hotel worthy of its special location. We loved it.

The 2 Ladies at the reception desk were just so friendly and helpful the best we have meet for a very long time. I just wish we could have taken them back home to work with us in our business a great asset to have. The Hotel was probably one of the best we have stayed in for quite some time.

I was pleasantly surprised. It looked like the rooms had been recently refurbished. The hotel was clean, in a great location with lots of options for breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful, I'd definitely stay again. The hotel was in a great location.

    Looking online, Port-en-Bessin seemed a scenic little fishing port. Research showed lots of restaurants in close proximity of hotels. However visitors need to aware that almost the whole town closes on Sunday evenings and all of Monday making it difficult to find the ideal meal on those days. Also not impressed with restaurant quality - more like cafes -with little sophisticated dining opportunities - Moules and Burgers dominate most menus!

    The town is not large but is quite beautiful if you enjoy a traditional fishing port with nice restaurants, bars and shops. O'Plan B restaurant owned by our hotel host is particularly good. Within reasonable distance are some of the finest military museums from the 2nd WW.

    Lovely small fishing port, plenty of cafes and places to eat, supermarket/petrol station, and an 8 to 8. Some small independent shops, we will return to explore more as we were with a Motorcycle Club visiting the DDay beaches and Swiss Normandy.

    Port-en-Bessin is a small fishing village that has a wide range of restaurants and small hotels. It is easy to get to from Caen port and is good as a base to visit local beaches and other areas of historic interest. The harbour is always busy with the local fishermen going out to sea at various times. Ample free parking along the harbour.

    Great little fishing Port. Lots to see and do. Seafood Restaurants cannot be beaten ans great selection of them. Excellent location for travelling out to various museums and the local museum is a stunning collection recovered from the sea by a local diver who's lifetime's work is displayed ,from uniform buttons to FULL TANKS. Omaha Beach GC is one of the most demanding in the area with cliff top views of the beach. I have stayed here for over 10 years without regret.

    I thought this was excellent value for money. The unit is a studio unit so it is a bit small, it is also looking a bit tired and worn, but the price makes up for this. It is all on the ground floor, but if you have mobility issues, there is quite a large step up into the shower. The location for visiting Bayeux and the Normandy Beaches is great. I assume guests can use the pool, it was far too cold for anyone to be swimming, but it looked clean. Nice outlook over the golf course. The unit is not part of the Mercure Hotel
