    The very best for me were the stunning house gardens.

    The very best for me were the stunning house gardens. A dream for solo travellers and couples. The local restaurants in the pretty village were a 10 minute walk away and provided many choices for various budgets and pallets. Only complaint was the huge, but very tasty , portions (not a place to visit if you want to lose weight). I was not unsatisfied with anything at all. Activities for solo travellers? The garden, the calm, the pool, the tennis court, the local art and music festivals, the restaurants, the local nature walks, the proximity to many and various points of historical and cultural interest, a kitchen in your apartment if you wish, a shaded veranda somewhere around the house all day. Even when fully booked I felt as though I had a peaceful time, quite undisturbed except for an interesting conversation with my neighbour who was a professional avant guard bassoonist (you don't meet many of those around). Just go there and be satisfied.

    The high point of our visit was our accommodation followed...

    The high point of our visit was our accommodation followed by a journey on the Yellow Train through the Pyrenees and site seeing the ancient churches and other architecture such as the Vauban city of Villefranche. One small warning: we chose to visit before temperatures become too hot (good) but we then found pine pollen was at it's height (not so good!) otherwise, Prades is recommended!

    A good central location to explore the Pyrenees only being c40 minutes from Perpignan airport and 1 hour to Collioure. Some restaurants were only open at weekends, but there were 2 reasonably good ones open every day. Also about 1 hour to drive to Mont Louis. Very good market on a Wednesday for local foods etc.

    Great town in the heart of the Pyrenees with easy access and great services, facilities and restaurants. Easy walks from the town itself and surrounding areas easy to get to. 45 minutes to the coast and 45 minutes to ski resorts, what more could you want?!

    This a charming city, in a less travelled region of France, that is filled with hidden cultural and architectural wonders: There is a slough of excellent culinary gems, that remain undiscovered, but are well worth the search.     Very friendly reception and constant assistance from Sharon and Declan throughout our stay. Delicious breakfast. Very useful tips for visiting the region. Spacious accommodation in this old house where they have maintained it's cachet while caring well for the property and garden.     Our stay was as comfortable as possible (just like home). The owners of the hotel are very nice, friendly and welcoming people. We were gifted with care and warm smiles. I would like to mention the beautiful view from the window on the mountains, the pool which was very useful on a hot day and the homemade jam we were served for breakfast :) Thank you so much! 🔥🔥🔥

    This hotel was great! Easy walking distance from the center of town, and a lovely property. The host was very attentive and proactively suggested a spot I could store my bike overnight, as well as a couple of restaurant options for the evening. I had to bother him after hours and he graciously helped me even after 10pm!

    It was in a very good position in Prades. The house itself was decorated with great flair by Nadia; a warm inviting space. Breakfast was amazing with a huge variety of tasty dishes which Nadia cooked herself. She just enjoys making her guests comfortable & making sure their stay was memorable……and ours was.

    The English couple running the hotel were very welcoming and gave us (probably) the best room in the hotel, with a massive double balcony and extensive mountain views. They even offered us a lift to Villefranche.
