This is one of the most beautiful and picturesque villages...
This is one of the most beautiful and picturesque villages in the Alsace wine region. It can be busy during the day at peak season as it is on the Wine Route and gets a lot of day visitors. Staying here means that you get to experience it in the mornings and evenings when it is generally fairly quiet and you can really enjoy the surroundings and the handful of local restaurants and cafes. For us, that was one of the best reasons to stay here. It is also a great location for days out around the region, to Basle in Switzerland (40 minutes by car) and also across the Rhine into Germany (30-40 minutes by car) being fairly central. From the UK, it is easy and fairly quick to get to with Eurostar into Strasbourg or cheap flights to Basle Airport then local transport.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The restaurant staff were especially helpful and offered suggestions for local wines and touring. Also helpful with picking a wine for dinner at the Sequoia restaurant. Breakfast was great. We had a lovely balcony with a view and very quiet room. Parking easy. Lovely town to stay in and nice to be just on the edge of town. One of my favorite villages in France! Easily walkable and gorgeous views. Great restaurants and street vendors, beautiful architecture, & friendly locals. A beautiful little town, very quaint and charming. Numerous shops selling local products, including ceramics, glassware, textiles, food specialities, and of course wine. Good selection of restaurants in a range of price categories, from simple snacks and meals to Michelin-star fine dining. Lovely walking trails through the surrounding vineyards. When we came we felt very welcome and the owner explained all the information related to the apartment. There was also a welcoming bottle of their own wine in the fridge, which was very nice. Our apartment was spacious and clean and included everything we needed. The location is great. You can go to walk up to vineyards (which was great opportunity with dogs) and on the other hand there is only a few hundred meters to Riquewihr center and to all restaurants etc. We enjoyed our stay very much!Guest review byLiinaFinland

Hosts are very friendly and helpful and speak several languages. Breakfast is plentiful, especially if you like cheese, and the bread is the best we’ve had in France. Bed is large and very comfy, en-suite bathroom also spacious.
