We enjoyed a fantastic stay at La Retraite. The apartment is cosy and tastefully decorated, and Assignan is a nice quiet little village, more interesting than we expected. We very much appreciated the complimentary local products, especially the jam and bread, and the coffee, because there are a few fine restaurants in the village, but no cafés where you can have breakfast.

    Saint Chinian is on the main road from the coast into the...

    Saint Chinian is on the main road from the coast into the mountains and a short drive to lots of places of interest. Boasts the most fantastic Sunday market- local producers with eye candy displays of meat and fish, chacuterie, cheeses, nougat ets. The town is quiet and it is delightful to wander through on foot from the property across the empty market place and through the grounds to the mairie. There are several good restuarants on the main street, a wonderful bakery down a side street and an artisan butcher and traiteur with delicious home made pates to look out for. Plenty of wine trials go through it . Try le Grange de Quatre sous Rose ! Chateau Dournie were hosting a free art exhibition in September which was beautifully produced.

    Excellent location, very quiet and surrounded by nature yet close to the restaurants in Saint-Chinian. The property grounds were beautiful and we could hear the little creek that runs right below the house. Friendly owners, we were treated to some very good local wine at arrival, and the breakfast, delivered to the room in a basket at a chosen time, was good and fresh. Would gladly return and stay longer.

    The Appart Hôtel Du Grand Soleil is incredibly relaxing, comfortable and quiet. Our apartment was spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. In a brilliant location for exploring Saint Chinian and the beautiful surrounding countryside, we had a very enjoyable stay. Thank you to the owners for all their helpful tips about the apartment area, we hope to come back in the near future.

    The hotel is very small and quite pretty. It was a little far from town but located in a very scenic location. The owners are very welcoming and helpful.
