Absolutely beautiful village and lived up to hype. The monolithic church and the Cloisters were orth the visit. Some great caves (cellars) are located on the edge of the village and are usually happy for you to visit and taste some sensational wines. Saint Emilion is a beautiful medieval village well worth visiting particularly if you are interested in wine and visiting vineyards. The people are friendly and welcoming. I would recommend a visit to St. Emilion to anyone even if not interested in wine. The village is easily walked. Some Chateaux are within walking distance as well. The first thing she did was give us a map and tell us the best things to see. She offered to arrange any bookings we wanted too. The room was lovely and perfectly clean. Breakfast was delicious, made to our requirements and served in her lovely courtyard.
