This is a very beautiful place in a beautiful setting less than a mile from the center of Domme. The hotel and rooms are exceptional!! Ours had a modern, fully equipped kitchen which was very convenient, as well as a spacious bathroom and bedroom. The pool and outside terrace are also amazing. The staff was wonderful! They were so welcoming and helpful with anything we needed.

This is the most magical place we have been since we arrived to France. Is a very charming and cozy place, a lot more than what we expected. Has the most wonderful views of the country side, we wished we could stay longer. Everybody here is so nice and helpful, we could find new places around this area that took our breath away. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy, walking to the city just 6 minutes away please stay more than one night.Is my favorite hotel by far. Thank you all for your delicious breakfast and all the good vibe that you had with any of us

The hotel is a chateau that has been recently renovated. Everything is brand new. the rooms are beautifully decorated, super cozy and very comfortable. There is a golf course in the works that should be ready by summer 2023. The food is excellent and the ambiance is great. We will come back to lovely Dordogne and will stay again at the Domaine de Rochebois.

    Fabulous and unspoiled medieval city. The city is divided by a straight road with many shops. It is good to explore both sides. One has all the main buildings the other side has a maze of charming streets. at night the town is gaslit - very atmospheric! The market is exceptional.

    What a fantastic town to visit!

    What a fantastic town to visit! Don't miss canoeing on the Dordogne but pick a company that lets you park your boat at Beynac, not 20 minutes past that town, if you plan to visit it. Don't miss Lascaux caves. Plan to spend 1-2 hours at the castles of Beynac and Castlenaud. The are both very well presented. The TI can give you a good list of taxis to take you to these towns and to Vitrac for canoes, and many of them speak English. Sarlat itself is gorgeous and fun to visit. Try to be there on a market day, an unforgettable experience.

    We loved the town of Sarlat.

    We loved the town of Sarlat. An old genuine medieval town, well kept. The markets were amazing, eateries, so much to see and do in and around Sarlat. Do NOT miss canoeing down the Dordogne either.

    One has to experience the beauty and wonder of the Dordogne region to understand why I will return for a longer visit. Words can’t convey the experience of the nexus of prehistory, medieval history, French Resistance history and stunning scenic beauty.

    A beautiful French town that is worth spending a few days.

    A beautiful French town that is worth spending a few days. Lots of great restaurants and local shopping. The French people are very warm, friendly and always willing to help. Most of the towns to visit surrounding Sarlat were 15 to 30 minutes away. Saturday market days are wonderful, filled with vendors, farmers, and shop owners on every street. The town is a perfect central location to the Dordogne Valley region.

    2 nights is plenty. Architecture is not to be missed.

    2 nights is plenty. Architecture is not to be missed. Crowds on market day are crazy unless you go to first thing in morning. The €5 panoramic glass lift is worth it. If you’re vegetarian or like plenty of salad/ vegetables you will struggle with all the restaurant menus foie gras and duck feature heavily.

    A lovely hotel located above Sarlat but easily walkable in 10 mins (uphill on the return so a little bit longer). Run by a very attentive family team, everything is spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast and the pool area is delightful with shady sun loungers. Air conditioning in the room was fantastic especially with the temperature being over 35 degrees. Sarlat itself is fabulous with many great restaurants and street entertainment creating a good vibe. A fantastic base for exploring the area.

    La Couleuvrine is a charming hotel located within the medieval centre of Sarlat. The staff were welcoming. The room was very clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and amazingly quiet thanks to the triple-glazed windows, the bathroom modern and the breakfast was very good (especially the viennoiseries and the cheeses).

    The apartmant was very comfortable, clean and warm. The bathroom was a good size with a great shower. Short walk to cafes, restaurants and the historic part of Sarlat-la-Canéda. Parking was conveniently next door giving easy access to to the car which is a big plus in most towns in France.
