The information and communication we received from Roch was excellent. He sent us lots of really useful guidance regarding the local area before our stay and always responded to our queries in a friendly and timely way. Property was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for a short stay. It is a compact property however there is some very clever use of space. The air conditioning was very welcome and needed, as we had very high temperatures during our stay. The outside space was fantastic with areas to eat or just sit and relax. There is a lovely garden area around the property attracting lots of birds and insects including bees and butterflies. A Thoughtfully placed gazebo meant we could sit and watch the sun go down and enjoy the views across the surrounding farmland. We especially loved the hammock !!! The location was idyllic. It felt rural whilst still being within easy reach of Chinon, attractions, supermarkets, restaurants etc.

The hotel/bar/resto was most accomdating as we 3 cyclists arrived. Problem: it was on a French national holiday. Most local restos were closed as was their kitchen so they kindly offered us an excellent cheese and salad evening meal. Perfect! After cycling n Km we just needed beer, bread and salad. With that we were off to their really good bedrooms and, in the morning to a good breakfast

Comfortable rooms (if a little small), with tea/coffee and a small balcony. Good access to Peage for travel to/from Caen. Our dog was welcome (charge 12 euros) and had the run of the substantial grounds.

Beautiful historic hotel which has been lovingly bought back to original with huge medieval fireplace in breakfast room, original ceiling beams and set in peaceful lush courtyard garden within walking distance to everything Chinon has to offer. The hotel is in a very nice old historical building. It was amazing to read the history of this ancient residence started from the XIII century in the hotel book. We lived on the top attic floor, which we climbed up by magic internal compact spiral staircase that looked like an attached tower from the outside. There is a large parking lot behind the house where we put our car and very nice breakfast in the restaurant in the nearest building. The location turned out to be really very convenient for visiting castles. We visited 5 castles in 3 days :) The room had a bath and everything you need, even a teapot for evening tea after trips and heaters which is important for cold period. It was also ideal for us from the number of beds point of view, usually, it is very hard to find satisfactory rooms in hotels. So we really liked the hotel and the details of its history are just what you expect from heart of France. Thank you for a good vacation!
