Strasbourg is a fascinating place to visit and very easy to walk around. There are plenty of things to do and great places to eat. The cathedral is simply splendid and just across the square is the Palais Rohan- home to the bishops and kings who visited over a number of centuries- it was very quiet when we visited which made it even more special - with so few people we could actually imagine the history of the place centuries ago. The Batobus is inexpensive and takes you on a wonderful trip along the river past the European Parliament with an English commentary along the way- thoroughly enjoyable and we learned a lot about Strasbourg and its fascinating history!Guest review byKathrynAustralia - 10.0

It's a wonderful city with the mixture of German and French, old and new. So much to see - museums, gardens, European Parliament, cathedral, all within easy reach using the trams. A beautiful small city with a blend of gorgeous historic charm, and a genuine sense of a vibrant local community. The mixture of French and German influences is very unique, providing an experience distinct to other parts of France. The main cathedral is breathtaking, and the whole old town is a joy to explore. Strasbourg is a must. This time, we ( me and three teenagers) arrived at 22:00 and left at 10 am, but even then we enjoyed it: found gelato in front of the illuminated cathedral, wandered the charming streets late night and early morning, enjoyed breakfast then went on our way. Strasbourg is a beautiful city. I would highly recommend taking an organised boat tour around the circular city route. L'Onion restaurant in the old town was fab for local Alsation food and pretty resonably priced. Booking ahead for restaurants is essential as this is a very busy place.Guest review byRichard - 8.0

It's a lovely walkable city with beautiful old buildings in petit Alsace. The boat trip was very informative, and done in many languages (English is no 3 on the panel). We did the slightly longer one which also included the European Parliament.
