The hotel was a great base for my hiking holiday. The room with onsuite facilities was exactly what I needed. The breakfast and evening meals were top notch. The staff were friendly and attentitive.

    I went to Termignon on recommendation of a hiking guidebook.

    I went to Termignon on recommendation of a hiking guidebook. It's a very good base for exploring the Maurienne valley as it's roughly situated at the midpoint. Lanslebourg (up the valley), and Aussois & Modane (down the valley) have more amenities than Termignon, but it has the essentials. Moreover, it's easy to get to the others by bus or car. There are numerous trails to hike or mountain bike. There are also several via ferratas in the valley, from easy (F) to extremely difficult (ED), many concentrated at Fort Victor Emmanuel. Besides the valley itself, there's also the Vanoise National Park and Lac Mont Cenis that are well worth exploring. If you're up for a challenge there's the Tour of the Vanoise Glaciers - the mountain huts (refuges) are excellent but you need to book in advance as they are very popular.

    I liked the tranquility of the place and the access to other stations in the Val Cenis area. However you need a car as there no effective shuttle service. I was touched by the Pleureuse memorial to the First War dead.

    Stephane and Charlotte were very welcoming hosts, and Tomas and the rest of their staff were lovely too. The chef made me delicious vegetarian specials each day that weren't on the menu. The walks straight from the hotel up into the meadows and woods were lovely, with great views of mountains all around.

    Extremely personal, individual reception by the owner family. The son is a fabulous chef de cuisine, both for the hotel’s Demi-pension or the deluxe restaurant Artemisia. Food a bit pricey, but worth it.

    Very nice apartment with a friendly host. The apartment is located close to the ski lifts, so it is easy to get there. Termignon is a small, cosy village, very good to relax in rather quiet atmosphere.
