We loved Vannes.
We loved Vannes. The old town is so interesting with its medieval buildings and hidden streets and squares. It is so close to the port with its waterside activities. We visited the Cathedral and the Musee de Beaux Arts, Despite ongoing renovations at the Cathedral we still found lots to look at. The ramparts and gardens are also well worth a look. There were plenty of places to eat. The day we visited the old town it poured with rain so we had wonderful moules frites opposite the cathedral. The apartment is modern, fresh and light in à quiet residential area. Bus stops on the doorstep for to and from the centre of Vannes. There is nothing at all to dislike about this property. We were welcomed by Audrey, who gave us all the information we needed to ensure à trouble free stay - she was so friendly and helpful, and came to collect the keys on our departure. Pretty and extensive medieval centre, very photogenic, lovely shops and eateries. Similarly the port area directly adjacent. If you're going by car the roads and one-way systems are horrible. Head for large car parks rather than try street parking. There are also strange experimental bus lanes that run up the middle of the road and have right of way crossing in front of you. We loved the hotel location , short walk to all amenities. Old town really beautiful, Christmas lights were lovely . We came for the rugby but greatly enjoyed strolling around the streets visiting shops, bars and restaurants. Very easy to get around on foot .Guest review byOxford - 8.0

It has a well thought of restaurant although we didn`t eat at it. Vannes is a pleasant little town but in my opinion a bit limited...but we did find a good cafe/bar in the port. When we left to go back to St Malo...we had actually arrived in the hotel my wife exclaimed " I`ve left my clothes in the wardrobe" Luckily they had already texted me.
