The weather wasn't great.
The weather wasn't great. It rained quite a lot and the temperature was up and down. In fact I got a bad cold. But Vence itself and Vence St Paul are beautiful places. Two Medieval towns very well preserved and a pleasure to explore on foot. Unfortunately, the museum was closed and this was a disappointment for me but I did enjoy my visits to the Matisse Chapel in Vence and the Fondation Maeght in Vence St Paul. Vence is a cute little historical town.

The house is absolutely lovely with masses of ‘hygge’ as we say in Denmark and it’s welcoming and comfortably decorated with a lovely relaxing ambiance. The pool is fab. Deep and cooling. Vence is under-rated when compared to its more illustrious neighbours Tourette’s and St Paul de Vence. But it is just as pretty and more interesting in what it offers. Beatrice and her helper were excellent hosts, kind and knowledgeable on the local area. Quirky and very homely place to stay and very easy to walk into Saint Paul de Vence from the house. Excellent breakfast in the summer kitchen and really good value. Will definitely return to explore this area more. Be lovely to use the pool on a warmer day.
