    We only needed a few hours in V-s-L which is which is why we chose to stay a short distance outside the town in the pretty countryside rather than in the centre of town. I’m very glad we did, particularly as it was a Sunday and the town was very quiet.

    Happy to discover the town centre, having passed though en...

    Happy to discover the town centre, having passed though en route to other places several times. Our visit in December, had highlights like the Christmas market, the delights of the Halle on the river side, and the Saturday morning market. Its clear the the Maire is trying hard, and deserves success. We are more than happy to return in the summer months and enjoy the activities along the river.

    The centre of the town was very congested and the authorities were carrying out major road renovations but the overall visit to the town was very pleasurable The lot valley is a beautiful area with many attractive sites to visit in every direction. We ate our meals in restaurants and found that there were many to choose from with a good variety of food styles. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Pujol which is a short ride from the hotel. There are several other small Bastide towns in the nearby surrounding area which are all worthy visiting. The waterlily park in nearby Temple sur Lot is also well worth visiting.

    The town is nice enough for a stroll during the day - plenty...

    The town is nice enough for a stroll during the day - plenty of historic archetecture and pretty squares etc to explore for a couple of hours. We rented some kayaks for an afternoon's paddle along the Lot, which is nice too. About a half-hour drive away is the Château de Bonaguil - well worth a day trip. At night, the town doesn't feel entirely safe - there are gangs of young men quite overtly dealing on the streets, plus the clientele that they attract. One of my party said that the town has a poor record for personal safety, which was believable based on our experience. The police were not visible at all.

    We received a friendly and pleasant welcome and advice about the town. The hotel is much bigger than it looks from the road and includes a garden where guests can have breakfast on warm summer days. The whole place was exceptionally clean and well kept. We had delicious home made plum jam with our breakfast and were able to buy a couple of jars to take home with us. We will open it at Christmas when I am sure it will remind us of our lovely September stay!

    A family run hotel close to the centre of Villeneuve Sur lot in a quite side street. My bicycle was stored safely overnight in a storeroom and free car parking is available right outside the hotel. Breakfast was good and I enjoyed my stay and would have no hesitation in recommending this good value hotel when visiting this lovely town and area.

    For the money this hotel is brilliant, the lack of parking is no problem as the public parking is good. The restaurant value and quality is simply exceptional. The a staff welcoming and friendly, the director Msr Journel said runs a great hotel.
