Both the pub and the above rooms are brand new, spacious and created using the iconic British interior design. Large bathroom with a bath tub and shower very practical, bright and comfortable. The room has everything you need even an iron board and a super coffee machine. The bed is large and the matrass was brand new when I stayed there and I slept very deeply after a good warm bath.. It was a surprise to turn up on the check in time to find it...
It was a surprise to turn up on the check in time to find it licked up and deserted, but a patient wait of 15 mins, with a knock on the back door allowed us access. The explanation of midweek operating hours was another surprise, but we are flexible folk and the cloud cover that night cooperative! We had travelled from North Lindon especially for the new Dark Skies Park up the road at New Decoy. The village of Abbots Ripton is on quite a busy road; most of the houses, including the pub are set back from the road. There are some lovely thatched properties, but there seems to be just a post office and a church in the village. The pub is very near the A1 and near to the park and ride for Cambridge. it is also near RAF Wyton and Huntingdon.
