FAQs about hotels in Aberdeen

Charm, Granite, Energy and Blooms

With a gently rolling landscape, Aberdeen moves elegantly between sandy beaches, picturesque stone houses, and blooming gardens. As Scotland’s 3rd-largest city, it is home to important universities, a busy harbour, and is a hub for the oil industry in the North Sea.

Walk along the Union Street ‘Granite Mile’, and visit some of the historic places like the Town House, Castlegate, or ‘Provost Skene’s House’. Don’t miss the Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum, and do some shopping in the city’s trendy shops. Choosing hotels in Aberdeen’s city centre allows you to explore this compact city on foot.

The charming Old Town is filled with bookstores, old buildings like the King’s College, and student cafés. The city won the ‘Britain in Bloom’ prize a stunning 10 times for its well-kept gardens.

The local airport offers direct train links with the central railway and coach station. Staying in a B&B, a cottage, or a hotel near Aberdeen Airport is a way to avoid the last-minute rush, while enjoying the surrounding green hills.

Been a few times to Aberdeen as this is where our son lives. Plenty variety of eating places and pubs etc . We were there one night as we were there for a specific show at the time in the Aberdeen Music Hall. Downside is the amount of beggars and homeless people in the city centre.

Love Aberdeen, always plenty to see and do with kids. Short bus trip to Stonehaven outdoor pool is a must. Buses every 10-15 minutes to different areas within Aberdeen and trains to other towns and cities down the east coast.

I was only there three days on business and didn't get much time to look around which is a shame as I think Aberdeen has a lot to see and a lot of history. I was looking for a good restaurant but all I seemed to find in the town was fast food and takeaways. What did stand out was the cleanliness of the place, no litter and rubbish on the streets. If you are going there, plan ahead and find the things you want to see ;)

The rooms were comfortable and clean.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. It was just disappointing that the smokers used our car as an ashtray. There isn't any parking apart from street parking. So you have to hope nothing happens to the car

Some lovely old buildings, fun to watch the busy port right in the middle of town. Interesting view of oil rigs a couple of miles off the coast. It would certainly have repaid a longer stay. Aberdeen is a pedestrian friendly town and seems to have a more than adequate bus service.

This apartment served me very well, I was doing a course and needed a place to study in the evenings, also I needed to wash clothes as I am limited to what I can carry so this apartment was a godsend, way better value than any hotel room, warm clean and quiet, short walk to Aberdeen city centre, shop close by, I really enjoyed my time in the apartment as it was great value for money and allowed me the freedom to study and relax in a homely setting. Couldn't find fault.

Bedroom was cosy and comfortable. Bed was brilliant and had slept great both nights i was there. Bathroom was really nice - wet floor shower along with lovely hand wash, body wash and shampoo. Breakfast was excellent - hot items were cooked to perfection and a vast selection of cold buffet. Staff were all warm, helpful and friendly - catered to every need!! The next time I'm in Aberdeen, I will be choosing this hotel for sure.

Huge hotel on the outskirts of Aberdeen. Lovely hotel with great facilities. Lovely bar and restaurant. Plenty of parking available (£3 per night). Staff are very friendly & professional, always willing to help. We got there late so were unable to use swimming pool/gym but it looked lovely and well organised. Hotel is priced well and is worth the money, highly recommend.

The breakfast was nice and the distance from the city centre was about 32 minutes with a public bus and the bus stop is less than 2 minutes' walk to the hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet environment. Very nice place. I travelled down to Aberdeen from Newcastle and I really enjoyed my stay at Aloft.

Really ideal location for most events in Aberdeen. We stayed as we were attending a concert at the P&J, and with the hotel being right next to the bus station it’s ideal for travel.
