Did not expect the standard of facilities we found here. It was exceptional. Underfloor heating, so cozy - it was blowing a gale and 100 % rain but we were totally Snug. Full hob and oven, great kitchen facilities. Lovely bathroom, comfy bed. And some lovely extras for us as we are on honeymoon.

Stew was the best host I've ever had at any Youth Hostel or holiday accommodation! He gave us a very warm welcome after our long drive through the highlands and had the wood fire burning so we could get dry and warm immediately. The rooms were incredibly well kept and clean and we were so impressed by his attitude and ability to make us feel right at home! The white sand beaches were the cherry on top to this fabulous experience 😍

Location, atmosphere, everything was perfect with this cute little hut. There was breakfast bread and granola as well as coffees, teas and milk. The night was very calm and I had the best sleep ever. Self check-in was simple.

    The beach is amazing, does not disappoint in any way.

    The beach is amazing, does not disappoint in any way. Last 1.5 miles to the beach is single track road and there is not much around but that’s what we liked and just short 20 min drive from lochinvar for shops and restaurants etc.

    It's an isolated beach with scenic views and away from the world feel. The staff here are genuine and friendly and if they do not know they will find out for you. We went out of season and there was enough to do. In season alot more stuff is open. Definitely recommend a visit. Also part of NC500

    The location was amazing, the views were incredible and the whole break at Achmelvich was amazing. We made the mistake of not bringing snacks, juice etc, but the little shop on the caravan site had lots for us. We also used the chip shop on site, which was beautiful fish!

    Well worth the drive down a single track road . Beautiful beach, white sand aqua sea.. and that was on a day of louring clouds, high winds and subsequent rain. The hostel was charming, with the benefit of a log fire and comfy sofa and chairs. A warm welcome from the lovely young woman who checked me in and was happy to chat. No internet....which I did not find in the least bothersome. I sat and read gazed into the log fire and got my thoughts in order.

    Beautiful beaches in a quiet area made busier by the North Coast 500. 3 caravan sites adjoin each other but are well set out and are not visible from the beaches. Great grassy areas for kids to play. Crystal clear sea. No cafes or lifeguards or tinned entertainment which was a bonus for us. Good places to eat in Lochinver about 15 minutes drive away. The road is single-track with passing places, so be careful as the many camper-van drivers often don't know how to reverse or use wing mirrors to allow faster traffic to overtake!
