The Castle is Superb.
The Castle is Superb. The Staterooms were astonishingly impressive. The Castle and its History especially the Percy Family bring a Proud and fascinating past to life, really wonderful. No escaping the Harry Potter link,but watching a dozen Gen Z's trying to fly broomsticks..actually dragging them along the ground ...was highly amusing. We loved Alnwick for its shops, cafes, restaurants market...
We loved Alnwick for its shops, cafes, restaurants market and especially the amazing castle. Also there was a bus service to get to lovely nearby places such as Amble and Alnmouth, both pretty and Warkworth another Casrle! Bamburgh and Seahouses also close by. A wonderful town with very friendly people. A beautiful castle & gardens well worth a visit. The Tanners Inn sold real ale & lagers made in Alnwick. Great location to base yourselves - access to all the best places in Northumberland within an hour or so or less; If you have a dog probably better to go self catering; Alnwick has many pubs and restaurants but there are few pubs that do good food and there are few restaurants that are dog friendly; also closing days are a mystery - some are Monday, some are Tuesday, some are Tuesday and Wednesday, others are Wednesday - you couldn't make it up really and not advertised on their windowsGuest review byajdmouse

The service and food were excellent. I had a lovely room with a street view, comfy bed and I slept well. The hotel is perfectly located near the shops and only a few minutes walk from the castle and gardens and bus stop to Alnmouth station and beyond.
