Ashbourne’s a lovely town.
Ashbourne’s a lovely town. I stayed at The George and Dragon in the Market Square which is a great location, in the middle of town with good shops, pubs and eateries nearby. There are major works going on all around town at the mo (Sept 2025) due to end at the end of October which will make it even better. There’s also a lovely Memorial Park just a few minutes from the centre, well worth a visit. Ashbourne is very quiet because most of the houses are second homes. Lost a lot of locals, doctor, post office and shop. . The pub food wasn’t brilliant so had to go further afield. A lovely town with a host of history.
A lovely town with a host of history. We parked in Ashbourne Park car park which was free but there is plenty of parking in the town. St Oswalds church was a must visit and the walk took us past the Alms Houses.
