A very scenic town centre.
A very scenic town centre. A good supermarket and several specialist shops (bookshop especially) . just try and avoid the sweetshop (far too tempting) Several nice restaurants and an excellent fish and chip shop. Ballater is a lovely village.
Ballater is a lovely village. Very clean and tidy as you would expect being so close to Balmoral Castle. Beautiful hanging baskets outside the shops Plenty of cafes and gift shops. Lovely village green around the Church in the centre of Ballater with seating areas . Free car park and free parking around the Church. Lovely village to visit or stay. It has been the most wonderful and comfortable place we have stayed in on our trip we had been away for 4 weeks and this place by far the very best. Homemade cakes and a great breakfast. Dog friendly and good immediate local woodland walks. A great base if you want to sightsee, go walking or cycling on / off road. The hosts were very pleasant and the accommodation was very clean and well equipped. Also had a dishwasher which was nice. Parking was easy too with lots of space to do so.
