If you like Downton Abbey, the TV program and the characters you have to go to Bampton. A very quaint village where the outdoor scenes were filmed. The twin room was spacious and spotlessly clean, the fixtures and fittings were of a very high standard. The bed was so comfy with plenty of pillows and a lovely throw for the colder nights. The hotel states no parking on the details but over the 3 nights we were there we never had any problems parking just outside the hotel on the main streets, always within view of our window. We were given a warm and helpful welcome by all the staff, who couldn't do enough for you. The whole hotel was very tastefully decorated, ours was a really comfortable room and the food was very good. The Tavern is obviously very popular, and breakfast was a very busy time, but we were well looked after,despite having to wait a little while. We could relax .
