Amazing breakfasts cooked by the wonderful hosts got me off to a fantastic start each morning. Free parking was a great addition for us. The hosts were very welcoming. I had to do remote work the day we checked out and they extended my check out as late as they could so I could work from my room but then generously let me l stay in their dining area to do work all day, no extra cost.

We booked the Tunnel to attend Silverstone for 3 days for the British GP. It was tucked away in beautiful surroundings but close enough to make the trip daily. The Tunnel is stunning inside and out, the staff are amazing and cater for everything you would need. The views from the bedroom were spectacular we had a lovely weekend. What can I say about the wood burner fueled hot tub just what we needed after long days

Banbury is a lovely town, old enough to have a lot of character, large enough to have an excellent range of facilities. We were fortunate to be there when there was an excellent festival down by the canal (and the best value cheese we've ever had). St Mary's Church is beautiful and well worth a visit (and a donation - these places are special but expensive to maintain). We look forward to future visits.

Banbury is a good-sized market town at the edge of the Cotswolds. While it's not built of Cotswold stone it's still a good place to stay if you want access to shops, restaurants, pubs and the cinema; so it's convenient and possibly a bit cheaper than the heart of the Cotswolds. It's surrounded by lovely villages and countryside, I can recommend visiting Deddington (especially when the market is on) and Cropredy - for a stroll along the canal.

There is not much to see in Banbury, but it is a good base to explore nearby cities such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Warwick, and the Cotswold. Easy connection by train and good park and ride schemes on the outskirts of the cities. Banbury has a good range of shops and restaurants. It has parks for nice walks.

I have never visited Banbury, but is well known due to the nursery rhyme Banbury Cross hence I had positive expectations. However, I was disappointed to see beautiful historic buildings (many hundreds of years old of tudor design) had their ground floor gutted to house Chicken takeaways, turkish barbers, vape shops, etc. How has the council let that happen. At some point, these must have been listed buildings, and I am guessing the buildings works were done years ago before such heritage was protected. There were some nice shops eventually found, but the route I walked in (along Oxford Road) was littered with boarded up premises, vape shops, mobile phone shops, barbers and small 24 hours convenience stores. Not what I was expecting, and I will tick Banbury off my list of places to not visit ever again. Even Wetherspoons (a good staple in any town) was indicative with smokers and drunks gathered at the entrance, so you either pushed through them or walked by. I carried on walking.

Everything was seamless – from check-in to check-out. The service was far better and the hotel much cleaner than many of the big-name chains. I was very happy with my stay and will definitely return. One of the owners personally welcomed me, gave me a helpful introduction to the hotel, and even assisted me in parking our XL commercial van in their car park – a thoughtful touch that made things so much easier.

The room and food were lovely, and nothing too much trouble for the staff. Very polite. It was a good choice on our way home from the south coast. The weather was not too good, but we did like seeing "the fine lady" and Banbury Cross.
