I go there to meet up with old school friends so I know the area and where to visit. Furness Abbey, Dock Museum and Walney Island Nature Reserve are well worth visiting. Ulverston is a lovely small town and not far away.

Are was so clean and lovely just like it’s people. Very well-mannered and professional. We went to beach where was only 7mins drive from the hotel, ordered chinese takeaway within the area, lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance, play area just near the hotel private car park. If you are Catholic, there’s also a church 2mins walk away. More places to go to but sadly, because of the rain, we were not able to walk around much.

    Dead town, do not go.

Dead town, do not go. Even the locals told us "there is absolutely nothing to do here unless you like pubs". They were not wrong. Half the restaurants were closed, no high streets. I think locals go to Tesco for fun. Go to Ulverston.

Town is extremely ugly and there is absolutely nothing to do there. The nature is very nice, and that is the only reason why we decided to go there. I honestly think I have never been in a more depressing town in the UK.

Barrow in Furness is not a holiday location compared to...

Barrow in Furness is not a holiday location compared to Blackpool, Skegness, etc., and the town centre is rundown—clean but rundown. Everyone was friendly and, from a Bar point of view, relatively cheap. I can highly recommend Dodona restaurant for a lovely Greek meal! If you are in the car, everything is on tap: Costa, Maccies, BK, Cinemas, JD Sports, Sports Direct, ASDA, LIDL, ALDI, Tesco, B&Q and loads of other types of shopping centres. Car parking is readily available in all areas, and the town centre parking has both Ring and cash options. The area is highly industrialised in my eyes, and it's quite a trip to the beach—but at least there is a nice cafe. If you are up for a walk, there is a Pub on the beach, but it's a good 30 minutes' walk. I recommend staying outside the area for a holiday (Roanhead Bech, for example), as there are loads of options available - Camping, Caravaning B&B Hotels and some Static caravans (All the beaches are Dog-Friendly from what I saw). Barrow has everything you need from a shopping point of view. So you won't go without anything. There are loads of oneway systems in the town, so consider that when driving around.

The room we were in was lovely, fresh, modern and clean. The dining room was also lovely, fresh and clean as was most of the hotel. We were informed prior to arrival that the hotel was under refurbishment which was not an issue to us, the stair carpets and scaffolding was the only bits to be completed. The breakfast had plenty of choice between continental and full cooked breakfast which was lovely. The hotel was central to the town. The bar was opened just without draught beer etc but we enjoyed a few drinks.

A standard commercial hotel in the middle of Barrow in Furness. It was central so close to the few restaurants in the town but the town itself is in need of investment. Breakfast was good. Staff very helpful. I visited for family reasons so this hotel suited my needs

Beautiful hotel, offered upgrade for extra cost which I paid. Very happy with the room, very spacious. Lovely bathroom and everything you needed in the bedroom. Plenty of space to put your clothes and also a fridge hidden in the wardrobe. Great food too.

Excellent balance of privacy and community. It is like a hotel with some hostel features (the good ones!). It was very quiet as most guests use it for accommodation during work weeks, and we stayed for a long bank holiday weekend.
