Due to the storm this weekend and the river over flowing there were a few road closures around the area. Staff came out and helped us find our way as our maps weren't updating. They couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We really appreciated it! The rooms were big, modern and spacious. Breakfast was continental and then a choice of cooked options to follow. Pancakes were freshly made and delicious!

I had a wonderful experience at the Sunshine Apartment! The owner and staff were extremely kind. My kids even received Easter egg gifts during our stay. It is a lovely place to stay.

    There are some community gardens just down the road which...

    There are some community gardens just down the road which were a total delight. Well worth a walk around. Met some lovely people which walking the dog, and one kind gent even took my poop bag for me as he said there wasnt any in the direction we were walking ! Lovely neighbourhood :)

    Belper is a nice town with all the amenities you would need.

    Belper is a nice town with all the amenities you would need. Good pubs and dining along with the usual takeaways. Its a good location buy the river and has some gardens too. Easy to pick up the A6 to Matlock (15mins) & Bakewell.

    Belper is a most interesting place to stay for those with an interest in local history. We ate at the Devonshire about a 5 minute walk from where we stayed. Probably not an ideal place for someone to stay whio might have a disability.

    Belper is a lively place.

    Belper is a lively place. Full of industrial history and lots of community stuff going on. Some good bus connections and a railway station too. Plenty of place to shop, eat, drink. Maybe not too many places to stay so worth a browse while planning a visit.

    Belper is a large town with a good range of shops and cafes.

    Belper is a large town with a good range of shops and cafes. It is also served by a train station, with regular trains to Matlock, Nottingham, Derby etc. The River Derwent runs through Belper and there are river walks as well as a river garden, with a cafe and boating facilities. Belper is within easy reach of a lot of other very scenic places in Derbyshire, and as such is highly recommended as a base from which to explore.

    Belper is a fine place to visit.

    Belper is a fine place to visit. The town - a World Heritage site - has a fascinating and well-preserved industrial history. We enjoy walking and there are plenty of enjoyable walks in the countryside around Belper and, for anyone who fancies traveling further afield, the Peak District National Park is just a short car, bus or train ride away. And, for a town of its size, Belper is blessed with a surprisingly good choice of restaurants and pubs

    Staff were excellent - faultless. Room at front of hotel above bar very noisy - consider some sound proofing. Room a little tired in appearance and windows needed a good clean. Surprised that had to pay extra for cooked breakfast. Had continental one morning - croissants cold and, meat/cheese disappointing.

    Room was very freshly refurbished, lovely linen and towels, very clean. Thoughtful extras… water, tea, coffee, chocolate, milk, biscuits. Ear plugs - not necessary! Beautifully decorated and a very nice change from large chain hotels. Iron and hairdryer available. Everything you need.
