We loved all the little touches to make the cottage cosy and welcoming for an autumn stay. The central heating was perfect but the gas burner in the living room was a bonus for a boost on blustery nights. There were also lots of fleecy blankets to snuggle under if needed. We loved the large, well-equipped kitchen and nicely appointed bathroom with rainfall shower. It wasn’t really the weather for it when we stayed but the property also has a large garden and decked area which would be great in fine weather.

    There are lots of lovely places to visit nearby, the stunning North East coast Bamburgh Castle , Holy Island, Cragside, Wallington Hall, Kirkharle, Rothbury. We ate at Harnham Hall, I’m a vegetarian and had a different choice of meal for each of the three nights, all delicious and beautifully presented, likewise my husband had plenty to choose from and the deserts were fantastic. We walked around the local lanes each evening after dinner which we loved, lots of wildlife and animals.
