Large comfortable bed and huge bathroom!

Large comfortable bed and huge bathroom! Clean and spacious room with everything you needed. Varied breakfast. Food at dinner also good. Nice views and pretty beer garden. Quiet location but near to Teignmouth and Shaldon. Bishopsteignton very small and not much there. Steep stairs to the bedrooms.

It's a small village with a post office and a little shop that sells bread, fruit and veg and other essentials, but also some "delicatessen" type foods as well. Everyone is very friendly - we went for a walk in the village and everyone greeted us on passing and one chap stopped to talk to us and tell us about an interesting building we were admiring that used to be a convent and is now converted into flats. Last time we stayed we used the bus from the main road to travel into Teignmouth and also Newton Abbott, which was great.

A lovely location higher up the hillside, lovely well kept houses. Roads bit narrow in places, lots of cars so take care driving around. Ate at Cockhaven Arms whilst staying there, mixed review depending on what is ordered.

The village seems lovely, although only really has a small shop and a post office in the way of shops. I think there are a couple of other pubs but as it was New Year we didn't really explore those. We met some of the locals at our accommodation who were very friendly and who had settled in well when they moved to the village from elsewhere. There's an Otter nursery just down the main road, which we visited as it was one of the few places open, which has a cafe. There is a good bus service from the main road going to Newton Abbot in one direction and Exeter in the othe (via Teignmouth and Dawlish) and a few other buses to other places can be connected to at Teignmouth, which also has a railway station, as does Newton Abbot. It looks like pleasant country walks may also be on offer from Bishopsteignton, with public footpaths going down towards the river.

A lovely quiet spot, but within easy reach of facilities.

A lovely quiet spot, but within easy reach of facilities. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Our room was spacious, clean and well equipped. We also had our dog with us, who was made to feel welcome too. Our evening meal was fabulous, well cooked and very tasty. Breakfast had an excellent menu to choose from and again the food was excellent.

Beautiful cosy cottage and just as pictured. We were able to walk into Teignmouth and get the bus back to the village. Nice pub just up the street serving breakfast and a great hotel/restaurant within walking distance for evening meals. No parking was stated and wasn’t an issue as we were able to park nearby. It’s a great location to see beautiful Devon whilst being out of the hustle and bustle.
