A fabulous peaceful location for visiting Chelmsford. There was ample parking, with electric charging points, and a really good breakfast selection of both cooked and ‘continental’ foods. The staff were amongst the most professional and attentive of any hotel of a comparable standard that we have stayed in. We will definitely stay here again.

From check-in to check-out the staff of the County Hotel made its guests feel comfortable. The room was large and very clean, as was the ensuite bathroom which included both a full-length bath and a great shower. The bed was so comfortable we slept really well. Despite a function taking place two floors below us we heard nothing at all. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious and presented well.

Lovely studio in the grounds of a lovely country house., with pretty countryside views and the most superb hosts! So peaceful listening to the owls at night, a delightful spot. Spotlessly clean, all the facilities you could wish for, lots of nice touches, like local info, a range of DVDs and a delicious slice of Victoria Sponge awaiting me on the breakfast bar.

    Boreham was a useful base from which to visit other places...

    Boreham was a useful base from which to visit other places in Essex. We visited Brentwood, Saffron Walden, Billericay, Chelmsford, & Langford. We also went across to Kent and visited Hadlow. Boreham has two pub/restaurants, the Six Bells and the Lion, but for the one night on which we ate out, we drove 10 minutes to the Square & Compasses, Fuller Street. For incidental groceries Boreham has a Co-op about 10 minutes walk from the property, and for serious grocery shopping, a large Sainsburys 10 minutes drive.
