FAQs about hotels in Brighton & Hove

Colourful by Day and Night

Known for colourful nightlife and traditional English seaside pursuits, Brighton and neighbour Hove are the closest beach resorts to London, making them popular end points for classic car runs from the capital. Many end at the racecourse, a few streets from Brighton Marina, Europe’s largest, housing several shops and eateries. Many Brighton guest houses on Booking.com are also nearby.

Running along the beachfront is the world’s oldest operating electric railway, ending by Brighton Pier. Lit up at night and also known as Palace Pier, this city icon houses amusements and rides, and is one place to pick up some famous Brighton Rock, the confectionery sharing its name with an edgy Graham Greene novel set here.

A new addition, the Brighton Wheel is right by the pier, while one of its most famous attractions is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal retreat built in Indian style.

Just west are 2 of the most popular Brighton shopping spots – Churchill Square shopping centre and The Lanes with its narrow streets and unusual shops. This area also has several Brighton hotels with parking, and the Artists Quarter, a series of ex-fishing huts that are now galleries. The arts are a big thing here and Brighton Festival is the UK’s 2nd largest arts festival, while Brighton Pride is also a big event on the annual calendar.

    We enjoyed Brighton.

We enjoyed Brighton. Brighton i360 was really good as was the Volks electric Railway. The Laines are fantastic for browsing and there are so many places to eat and drink. The Palace is worth a visit too.

    Very buzzy place.

Very buzzy place. A diverse range of people , fashion wise anything goes ! Good shopping centre , the Lanes has a oldie worldie feel to it , a nice atmosphere. Musicians and singers seem common in most of the pubs and some resturants . Beach is pebbly , plenty of people were swimming , didn't seem to put them off .

    Plenty of places to see.

Plenty of places to see. Enjoy strolling around the Lanes which are a must. The Volt train still runs along the seafront. I was able to extend my stay for another 3 nights. This gave me time to spend time with friends and visiting the Marina. It is easy to walk round Brighton or get the hop on and off bus so you can visit all the places you want to.

    I adore Brighton.

I adore Brighton. My daughter is at uni there so I visit a few times a year and every time I am energised and inspired. It’s not a cookie-cutter town like so many other uk cities are now. It’s vibrant, unique, creative and quirky. The Lanes are the best. The coffee! And the brilliant diverse mix of people. I find new joy every time I go. Oh, and it’s all so walkable. It is expensive tho. 😏

Good venue, however wedding on and loud music, an on check in was not told about, which is fine but just tell your other guests. Wasn't told about spa and wasn’t given any information at all. Or asked if we wanted to book dinner? They need better communication really. Have you been before etc. to make you feel welcome.

Found Brighton very noisy and a massive hub for buses.

Found Brighton very noisy and a massive hub for buses. I am sure if visitors, if they knew which ones, could travel almost anywhere. Found it a little confusing where street names where not always visable. A lot the sea front has been updated. Vast improvement. Unfortunately the area along Marine Parade against the cliff wall has been left the decay but have been told this will also be repaired and updated. Lots of shops of every description. The imposing Royal Pavilion is worth a visit. Beach is a shingle pebble and steep shelving. Be prepared for a long walk down from the railway station and a long walk back up again.

Came here on the day after booking a different hotel that had closed down and not informed us. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise, staff were super helpful getting us checked in quickly and the sea view from the bedroom was really great, and location was super central. Direct phone to a taxi company in the lobby aswell was also super useful. Would recommend for an easy stress free trip for those who are visiting Brighton and enjoy being near the beach :)

When In Brighton we always stay at the King's. It is the best place to be. It's a friendly, comfortable hotel and we go back there every year we are in Brighton. The beach and sea are just over the road and what more can you say, it's a great place to be. Breakfast is always good, with lots of choice as to whatever you want. There are staff there we've known for the last 20 years or so. King's has good staff relationship management as far as we can tell.

Hotel is in the most fantastic location for Brighton right on the seafront. Upon arrival our room was upgraded to seafront view and the rooms were so spacious and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with a massive selection. Also security on front door checking everyones names and room numbers after hours made me feel very safe.
