There was an excellent supermarket right in front of the hotel, making it very easy to purchase stuff to have my meals inside the apartment. Also, the kitchen appliances were terrific. There was a perfect stove, oven, dishwasher, small-sized but perfect fridge, and even some salt, pepper, coffee, tea, and sugar for us to use. The bathroom is perfect, the bed is absolutely comfortable, and the wifi works amazing

FAQs about hotels in Cambridge

The Inspiration for Genius

Open-plan and open-minded, Cambridge is best known for university colleges dating to the 13th century. King’s College is the most popular, and its chapel choir is internationally famous. Although accessed from cobbled King’s Parade, it is best viewed from a punt on The Backs, the part of the River Cam behind.

Cambridge punting is an institution and gives great views of Queen’s College Mathematical Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs at St John’s College. Upstream is Jesus Green, site of an outdoor pool and a fantastic beer festival. Next to this is Midsummer Common, a park home to the annual Strawberry Fair (and the occasional cow). Opposite are the college boathouses - get up early to see the rowers in action!

Cows also roam the Mill Pond meadow, where the river leads south to Grantchester, a quaint village with a lovely cafe. Places to eat in Cambridge include riverside restaurants and typical English pubs like The Eagle, drinking hole of DNA founders Watson & Crick.

Cambridge shopping options include a daily market (in Market Square), the Grafton Centre and the exclusive Grand Arcade, the latest addition. The Scott Polar Museum and free Fitzwilliam Museum are 2 of many fantastic Cambridge museums.

Stansted Airport is connected by train to the city’s accommodation choices on Booking.com.

Room as expected. Great shower. Evening meal only "takeaway or fast food" style. Disappointed. Saved by the proximity of the Red Lion. Breakfast as expected. Need larger duvet on bed. Dining chairs need a good clean, very dusty on frames. Bench seating also needed cleaning. Good carparking. A useful hotel. Close to Duxford Imperial War Museum.

It’s a bit of a way from Cambridge so going by car is the best way. If you need a good place to walk your dogs there is a nature reserve a short drive away in School Road. If you are going to Cambridge go to Trumpington Park and Ride and leave your car there.

We stayed a 15 minute walk out of the centre of the town; its flat so it was easy. We only had one full day in the city, could have done with 3 days. Like all these cities, don’t drive into town; either book accommodation within 15 minute as we did or use the buses. The history is amazing and so much to see.

Only use the park and ride, Cambridge is shocking for places to park and it’s so expensive, park and ride costs about £4 each return, lots of excellent places to eat, museums are obviously amazing, very safe to walk around, make sure you wear comfortable shoes or trainers, you will be doing lots of walking😉⁉️

A lovely city with stunning architecture, which I love.

A lovely city with stunning architecture, which I love. I had a fantastic lunch there at a terrace restaurant overlooking the river. I forget the name, but it is opposite Prezzo. I just could have done with more time to wander around more of the colleges and maybe go punting - half a day wasn't long enough. Two days would, I think, be perfect.

great location straight off the motorway. bed was very comfy, powerful and hot shower, lovely little garden outside me room for morning coffee. Easy self check in. Only 5 minutes drive into Cambridge the next morning, parking was free, and accommodation was at least £40 cheaper than other hotels I was looking at in the similar area

Lovely hotel. Nice clean room, staff were friendly and nice breakfast was included. 20 ish minute walk into city centre so ideal place to stay to explore. On site parking was very handy and they let us park there all day before we even checked in. Would definitely stay again if we came back to Cambridge.
