We normally stay in St Andrews when on a short break in the area. Carnoustie golf Hotel is more than a match for most St Andrews hotels. The town on the other hand is a long way short when it comes to restaurants and shops compared with St Andrews. Coastal location with good walks if you have a guide map or information. Pub food was good, lots of golf, nearby National Trust mill in interesting, nice beaches. If you want a quiet break or a base for travelling in Angus / Fyfe its great. Carnoustie itself only has about 4 good places to eat. The High street shops are still holding on - but typically only open from 10-4. Public transport links are not great but if you have a car there's plenty of parking (and EV charging usually available).Guest review byMcKinnon

The place is right opposite the course and they had stunning views of it which really added to the atmosphere of their golf holiday. The facilities were fantastic and the place was comfortable.
