We had a lovely break visiting family at Reading and Bath, so ideal location south of the M4. Castle Coombe is beautiful and we managed to catch a look at The Ferrari Owners Club racing by luck. Chippenham has a great variety of shops including lots of lovely charity shops for meandering around, most large banks (unusual to see this when you live in the South East with all the branch closures, so it was noticeable) and all of the amenities you'd expect in a small town. Lots of options for coffee shops or dining, nice walks and a historic, quaint feel to the place. Lovely to see people feeding the swans, ducks and pigeons by the river. Nicely situated about 5+ min from Chippenham. You can get meals at the Jolly Huntsman or go into Chippenham for more options.
