I was pleasantly surprised by the genuine warmth of the Darlington people. The food at local restaurants was very good as was the atmosphere in the local pubs. I loved it.

Darlington has a lot to offer, all be it like many towns it has suffered in recent years from the decline of the high street. That said there has been a lot of investment in the town centre. What I liked most was the atmosphere and the homely feeling. I loved the garden and all the artwork around the house. The bed was supremely comfortable and I had a lovely bath too. The location is excellent for airport and motorway network and the restaurant round the corner was nice. The hosts are very friendly and amenable and the check-in is no fuss. Staff at check in check out very friendly and helpful The standard rooms have everything you need and the whole place is clean and tidy. You can upgrade to go into the old Castle rooms which are bigger than the wing. The parking is free and there is plenty of it.
