Doncaster town is very depressing.
Doncaster town is very depressing. Big shops moved out and lots of shops closed entirely. Such a shame. We lived here for eleven years and moved with work but come back frequently to see friends. Some locals were really friendly, some were the reverse conversely...it is an old town befitting for what it is and the heritage, so I cannot expect it to be London lest it changes it's name and defeats the purpose....Too many seemingly run-down looking shops in the center and they seemed shut for the most part.....otherwise I really have no complaints for everywhere cannot be the same.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

We grew up around the area revisited old stomping grounds some things have changed but the super friendly yorkshire folk are still about .we loved the local Indian restaurant had a wonderful curry meal , cream tea at moore farm shop, used the bus to get into town ,went clay pigeon shooting London, alton towers whitby and york ,all easily drivable from doncaster ( caught the train into London) a great stay with all the family .Guest review byLYNNUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Doncaster has a good shopping centre and is surprisingly busy. It is handy to motorways that can take you further afield The Minster is well worth a visit with enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides. Atleast time to check in should be 11 am. I arrived Doncaster at 4am arrived at the hotel very tired, but i was try to think have to sit in reception until 3pm. That check inn time is like all day has gone. But they manage to sort out and pay extra to accommodate that. Got inn reflesh and go in the appt at 10:30am. The rooms are good size and have suitable shower area with toiletries supplied.
