Ive visited before as I have friends and godchildren in the area. Don't expect the hustle and bustle of main towns, it has a very slow pace of life, shopping is limited and as I found the ferry's are not always reliable (I had been warned so had made alternative arrangments in the event that this was something that happened.). Locals are friendly and hlepful. The weather when I visited this time was scorching and it was pleasant to walk along the sea front, a great way to have a relaxing or energising walk and enjoy the scenery, whichever suits. A stunning, traditional Scottish town situated in absolutely beautiful surroundings (we were lucky to visit during unusually great weather). Having lived abroad for several years, it was fantastic to experience Dunoon and it's scenery. The Castle Museum is worth every penny of its £4 entrance fee. We had dinner in the restaurant and everyone’s meals were nice. Room was clean and quite big. Nice outdoor seated area to have drinks/food. Staff were all friendly. Only negative was it took ages to be served in the restaurant, waited about 30mins from when we ordered our drinks and food was about 45 minutes.
