Lovely area, plenty of beautiful beaches to visit and loads of lovely eating spots. Smoo cave was good to see and nice walks around the area. Fuel pumps open 24 hours and reasonably priced. Nice Spar shop which was well stocked, and a lovely pint of Guiness in the Sango Sands Oasis bar. Will definitely return to Durness in the future.

It was a luxurious homely cottage with a great location in the centre of Durness, 15-minute walk from the beach. You can see the sea from the lounge and bedroom window! The cottage has everyone you need and more! There are beautiful beaches a short drive away, our favourite being Oldshoremore - worth the trip!

Durness is an undersold part of the North West.

Durness is an undersold part of the North West. We booked two nights and could have spent a week. There is everything from local sights, day trips, hiking, golf, or just sitting back enjoying the view with a wine or a book. If you are there in Winter, Northern Lights are a distinct possibility. The local stores are small but well stocked th anything you can imagine.

Everything was fantastic. The hosts were extremely helpful. The property was very clean and very comfortable. Highly recommend it for a short or long stay. I stayed for 8 nights and felt really at home. Durness, its beaches and the wonderful NW highlands are on your doorstep.

Good location right on the NC 500 route in Durness. Very clean and good size room. Good size bathroom. Comfortable room. There is no parking actually on site but there is a car park rright across from the property. No evening meals are available at the time of our stay but breakfast is available and was plentifull and a good selection. Staff were very polite and helpfull. We found a great fish and chips roadside van just five minutes drive from the hotel. Check in and out was easy.

In my opinion the village Durness is a highland paradise as we kept occupied every day with surfing ,kayaking ,walking around numerous world class beaches , headlands, estuaries , dunes, lochs and sea , coloured with a wide spectrum of blue tones. We never drove more than 3 miles each day and were kept occupied all week. The views from the old township of Ceannabeinne cliffs over the beaches below are some of the very best in Scotland.

This clean and cosy cottage was perfect on our NC500 stopover at Durness ! It had everything we needed, including tea, coffee, milk, porridge and was in a quiet spot, about 10 minutes stroll to Balnakeil Beach ( stunning) and minutes from Loch Croispol and another Loch a bit further away on a beautiful hike. Would definitely recommend!

Stayed for one night as it's convenient for the NC500. Quirky property set in a 'craft village' location just outside Durness. Generous living space, bathroom and main bedroom but rather cramped bed 2. Enjoyed using the sauna, but could do with better instructions to turn it on (and better secure the cover on the switchgear).

Wonderful location on the cliffs of Durness. Great opportunity to meet other travellers especially in the older age group.
