I can't believe what an amazing building this is. We stayed in the rooms with the lofts, and they are gorgeous and very well appointed. Each room had a turntable a guitar and lots of nice little amenities (I used the hot water bottle to sooth an aching shoulder). The guitar has a tuner on it too. The mini bar area is very well stocked, and it is quite reasonable priced. They want you to have a beer, and they're not going to make you pay £10 per beer like some hotels. We also got a keg in the room for a little bit more money, and there are of course the famous shower beers. The decor is really cool too--all based around their funky art they use for the beers. Even if you are not a big beer person, it is a great place to stay, The restaurant downstairs has delicious food with really nice portion sizes, and the breakfasts were included with our room--full breakfasts right off the menu, not a sad hotel breakfast. I especially recommend the vegan breakfast. We also got a free welcome beer and a free beer for not requesting towel laundry, although housekeeping did come every day to make the beds. They are well staffed and have lots of chill, friendly people there to help you out. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, go there to hang out in the bar or for brunch. They also have a nice terrace and patio to sit outside. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the last stop on the 100 Airport Bus, and it's really close to all the downtown sights. We were able to walk to just about every attraction from there. Finally, I have to say that it's a nice and quiet hotel too. It's on a quiet street, and the walls are very thick, plus there's two doors between you and the hall. I slept great there. Definitely a nice place to stay for anyone wanting to explore Edinburgh.

Room was nicely upgraded, very clean, & the TV coming out of the end of the bed was a nice touch. Great little bar attached, we noticed that all the tables were reserved so must be good food. We were meeting friends elsewhere.

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

There was so much history, galleries, culture, beautiful parks and gardens to see, didn’t have enough time to see this beautiful city in the 4 days I spent there, I have read about Edinburgh in some books and have seen in many shows, so would like to return to explore some more.

We stayed in Leith, which was the old port of Edinburgh and is now the home of the Royal Yacht after it was de-commissioned some years ago and you can get there on the tram from Edinburgh which is a very convenient way of getting about or getting to the Airport. Apart from that there is Edinburgh old town with historic old winding streets and the New Town, which was new 200 years ago, and of course Edinburgh Castle. Lots to see and good shows, good food and good pubs.

We love the architecture and history.

We love the architecture and history. There is so much to see and do. We were disappointed to see so much graffiti in the city and the streets were not very clean. We could have had a few more days so we could have toured the castle, the palace, and hike Arthur’s Seat. The countryside is absolutely beautiful. We took 4 tours and enjoyed each one.

Ten Hill Place was a convenient and comfortable location from which to explore Old Town Edinburgh. It is close to Waverly Station, the Royal Mile and our favorite for this trip, the National Museum of Scotland. This was a relatively cheap ( by Edinburgh standards) 2* hotel, so I wasn't expecting too much. The room was large and reasonably clean, although it wasn't cleaned the second day of our stay. Not too far from the city centre with buses nearby.
