Farnham is nice and connected to Chawton House nearby, which is a great place to visit. The Revd Henry Austen brother of Jane was effectively the vicar of Farnham from 1822-1827. There’s some 10 acres of grounds within which there are an astonishing number and large variety of sculptures. Farnham is a lovely town with lots of coffee shops and restaurants to choose from, as well as plenty of shops to look around. It's a very pretty place with a good range of green space and parks to explore. There's lots of interesting history too, with old buildings and architecture to discover. Didn't visit the town as I was working. Traffic is an issue with lots of road works and some traffic light systems that clog up the road quickly and put up the price of a taxi ride! Taxis the most expensive I have experienced over the travelling I have done over recent months. Uber not always available. Their little boy was friendly. It was Halloween, so dad and he were decorating their driveway with giant pumpkins.
