Filey is a a small town on the East Coast of the north of England. It is fairly quiet but there are plenty of pubs, but not the type to play loud music or stay open until very late. Lots of places to eat, especially fish and chips. The beach is vast and the views from the many benches placed high above the beach are spectactular. Been a few times to Filey for day trips but never stayed. First time we'd been up into the town, was pleasantly surprised by the lovely independent shops, lovely bars and restaurants. I was brought up in Filey, it has changed a lot over the years and not always for the better. Gutters unswept and many pavements in poor condition. . Crescent gardens and the promenade well maintained. Beautiful beach, the brig worth visiting Good Sunday lunch at the White Lodge.
