A lovely country pub with excellent facilities in a really nice village. Our room was a very generous size with ensuite. Everything was clean and well prepared. The owners made us feel at home and very welcome. We had a lovely breakfast.

Really nice comfortable stay. Spacious room, nicely decorated, with a big comfortable bed and a clean, modern ensuite bathroom. Lots of options provided to make yourself a cuppa which was appreciated. Easy self check in and self check out. Lovely communicative host. A few continental breakfast items available in the room - please note the cafe downstairs (independent from the guesthouse) has pretty limited hours so early risers need not plan to eat breakfast there

The host went above & beyond to make our stay special this was a hidden gem so relaxing & had everything you needed to make our stay just perfect I will definitely stay again & would highly recommend anyone to go visit & stay the host even fed the cockreal so that I could take his picture! Absolutely fantastic stay! Only a 15 minute drive or bus ride into town, bus stop was a few minutes walk from the house. It was clean, big room with loads of storage and the bathroom had all the essentials you could need (toothpaste, schampoo, conditioner, body wash). The owner was so friendly and was an absolute star and drove us to a bus stop because of heavy rain! Can't recomend this place enough.

I absolutely love the check-in process at this place. The host goes above and beyond by providing detailed instructions that make everything so easy. And let me tell you, the property itself is absolutely amazing! The decorations are top-notch and create such a fantastic atmosphere. As a city dweller, being here feels like stepping into a modern village, and I can't get enough of it. I'm definitely coming back if I ever get the chance. It's just that good!

Fantastic stay in lovely cottage. Great base for exploring all Yorkshire has to offer. The hot tub was an added bonus enjoyed by both ourselves and the grandkids. Hist were very accommodating especially when this damsel in distress let the battery run down in the car needed a jump start. Thank you so so much

Location was brilliant for us as we had a car. But we wanted a relaxing weekend away in a lovely cottage and that is what we got. Hot tub was great! Parking right outside the cottage. Everything we needed in the cottage. Beds were comfy. Lovely bath and shower. We will be back.

    Flaxton is a small village - very pretty and well kept. Even though the Thompson Arms is just outside the village, it is obviously very popular with the locals, and has a lively and friendly clientele. We were made to feel most welcome.

    I needed to be fairly close to Malton as I had business...

    I needed to be fairly close to Malton as I had business there, but needed a reasonably priced overnight stay as I had further work in Scarborough the following day. With more time the proximity to Castle Howard would have been a big plus.

    The cottage was spotless, warm, comfortable and perfectly kitted out for our 3 day break. The hosts were both extremely friendly and helpful and having the option of a friendly pub on site was an added bonus. The landlord very kindly went to a lot of effort to fix my vintage bike during our stay which effectively saved our holiday! I really can't recommend Thompson Arms Cottages highly enough and we will be back!

    The owners are very friendly and helpful and the beer and the breakfast is lovely. Good location for touring and not far from Scarborough and York. I would be happy to stay here again and hope to do so in the near future.

    The lodges were beautiful overlooking the lake. We had three for a family reunion. Very clean and well equipped. Everyone enjoyed the use of the hot tubs. The site staff were amazing and very helpful
