A lovely country pub with excellent facilities in a really nice village. Our room was a very generous size with ensuite. Everything was clean and well prepared. The owners made us feel at home and very welcome. We had a lovely breakfast.

Good location,plenty of parking. Staff were all very helpful,and smiling. The night staff, I think her name was Molly, was especially friendly and helpful on our late arrival. It made us feel welcomed from the very start. Well done Molly.

The host went above & beyond to make our stay special this was a hidden gem so relaxing & had everything you needed to make our stay just perfect I will definitely stay again & would highly recommend anyone to go visit & stay the host even fed the cockreal so that I could take his picture! The house was clean and perfect for what we used it for went for my daughters 21st with family and friends and couldn’t of asked for anything more it catered for all ages we all had a blast and the kids were entertained with the pool while us adults enjoyed the hot tub and party areas 😍

    Flaxton is a small village - very pretty and well kept. Even though the Thompson Arms is just outside the village, it is obviously very popular with the locals, and has a lively and friendly clientele. We were made to feel most welcome.

    I needed to be fairly close to Malton as I had business...

    I needed to be fairly close to Malton as I had business there, but needed a reasonably priced overnight stay as I had further work in Scarborough the following day. With more time the proximity to Castle Howard would have been a big plus.

    Great for a one night stay. Room was very clean comfortable bed tea and coffee available in room. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. We were going to a wedding a couple of miles up the road he provided taxi survices knowing we would struggle to get one late at night. Breakfast was a full English. This is a good value for money bed and breakfast, if you are looking for a 5 star hotel with full facilities then this is not the place. You get great accomodation a lovely pub great hosts.

    The cottage was spotless, warm, comfortable and perfectly kitted out for our 3 day break. The hosts were both extremely friendly and helpful and having the option of a friendly pub on site was an added bonus. The landlord very kindly went to a lot of effort to fix my vintage bike during our stay which effectively saved our holiday! I really can't recommend Thompson Arms Cottages highly enough and we will be back!

    The owners are very friendly and helpful and the beer and the breakfast is lovely. Good location for touring and not far from Scarborough and York. I would be happy to stay here again and hope to do so in the near future.

    The lodges were beautiful overlooking the lake. We had three for a family reunion. Very clean and well equipped. Everyone enjoyed the use of the hot tubs. The site staff were amazing and very helpful
