A lovely country pub with excellent facilities in a really nice village. Our room was a very generous size with ensuite. Everything was clean and well prepared. The owners made us feel at home and very welcome. We had a lovely breakfast.

The host went above & beyond to make our stay special this was a hidden gem so relaxing & had everything you needed to make our stay just perfect I will definitely stay again & would highly recommend anyone to go visit & stay the host even fed the cockreal so that I could take his picture! The house was spacious and well equipped, it was truly a home from home. There was a well equipped kitchen, the owners had supplied everything you needed with a grocery pack of all essencials. Good location with lovely walks for the dogs.

    Flaxton is a small village - very pretty and well kept. Even though the Thompson Arms is just outside the village, it is obviously very popular with the locals, and has a lively and friendly clientele. We were made to feel most welcome.

    I needed to be fairly close to Malton as I had business...

    I needed to be fairly close to Malton as I had business there, but needed a reasonably priced overnight stay as I had further work in Scarborough the following day. With more time the proximity to Castle Howard would have been a big plus.

    The lodge was beautiful, as were the surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the water birds, song birds and deer every morning. The location was quiet and peaceful. It made an ideal base for exploring York, the Moors and the North Yorkshire Coast. Lauren and Jake were very welcoming. And the value for money was excellent!

    The lodges were beautiful overlooking the lake. We had three for a family reunion. Very clean and well equipped. Everyone enjoyed the use of the hot tubs. The site staff were amazing and very helpful
