a very well appointed home-from-home in a fantastic location! lovely owners who bent over backwards to help us (especially with our car in the snow); really delicious generous breakfasts and additional thoughtful touches such as cake in the room; very comfy bed, tastefully decorated room using local Harris Tweed, luxury bathroom facilities; close enough to Portree to be convenient but far enough away to have a wonderful view; cannot be faulted - highly recommended

We were upgraded to a double from 2 single beds at no extra charge and no fuss. Manager was very helpful and showed us a lovely clean room with great clean bathroom. Entire place was spotless. The location was excellent. The attached Chinese restaurant was one of the best I've ever eaten in and I've eaten in many.

The house is gorgeous inside and the attention to detail is outstanding and made it extra special. Host was fabulous - we had a long and great chat after breakfast. The breakfast was outstanding and the view of the garden the perfect way to start the day. Parking right outside the property which was super convenient. Gorgeous lounge to relax in too!

    Lovely little shops to walk in and out of.

    Lovely little shops to walk in and out of. You get to watch the loch in action with the four levels the boats have to go through to get to the next section. This is very interesting and a good place to watch this. There are many walks you can do along the Loch which are very picturesque.

    Beautiful scenery. Brilliant trips on the Loch Ness Cruises. Plenty of places to visit. Plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants, gift shops. Fascinating watching the boats going up and down the series of locks. It certainly was not a disappointment.

    The local pubs are excellent for food and drink and the Loch boat tour (Cruise Loch Ness) is a must. Gorgeous little city, great for a 2 or 3 night stay. DelightfulNess is great for lunch and the Lock Inn does a brilliant dinner.

    Cute little town on the south end of Loch Ness.

    Cute little town on the south end of Loch Ness. It's quite in the mornings and evenings but gets very busy over day with day tourists by the bus load. Our accommodation was not on the main road, so we hardly noticed the other tourists. Great place for day touring to all four directions as we did.

    Fort Augustus definately worth a visit although gets very busy with tourists. We appreciated slightly quieter places with less people around. There are a few places to eat out and would recommend the Chinese food at the Richmond House Hotel where we were staying. A couple of pubs too which are right on the canal and providing a welcome rest

    Lovely wee village on the canal and loch, nice pubs some lovely shops and overall very nice place! Easy to walk around from central car park, if driving through watch out for the swing bridge, although it doesn’t take long to operate and is interesting to watch!

    It was so refreshing experience to stay at the lodge. The location of the lodge is excellent - just 2 mins from Loch Ness centre at Fort Augustus. The staff is super friendly, cheerful and energetic. The breakfast is quite fulfilling, worth every single penny of it or even more than that. The beds were very comfortable in the room with very clean, tidy and suitable sized room. The en suite bathroom was also big and super clean.

    The property was excellent, no staff, all self service, get code sent for door & room, great view from window over the Fort Augustus bridge, location perfect, right on Caledonian Canal in village centre, 10 minutes walk down to Loch Ness, good Pubs, good food, perfect location, great facilities and very clean.     The Abbey has kept its original Architecture as far as possible, a very restful space. The apartment was very well appointed. The grounds and location on the Loch Ness shoreline were superb, also an easy walk into Fort Augustus.
